Jalore Patwari Caught Red-Handed Taking Rs 4,000 Bribe

JAIPUR, June 10 (Udaipur Kiran) : Acting on a complaint received through the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Headquarters Jaipur helpline number 1064, the ACB Jalore Unit on Tuesday arrested a patwari while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000.

The accused, Bunti Meena, is posted in the LR Branch of Sayla Tehsil and is currently holding additional charge of Patwar Halka Sangana in Jalore district.

According to the complaint received on the ACB helpline, the accused had allegedly been demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant for processing the mutation of the complainant’s agricultural land.

Following verification of the complaint, a trap operation was conducted under the supervision of Narayan Togas, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jodhpur Range. The operation was carried out by Additional Superintendent of Police Mangilal Rathore and the ACB Jalore team.

During the operation, the accused was allegedly caught red-handed while accepting Rs 4,000. The bribe amount was recovered, and the accused was arrested on the spot.

The ACB stated that during the earlier demand verification process, the accused had already received Rs 2,000 as bribe money.

Interrogation of the accused is underway, and searches are being conducted at his premises. The ACB will register a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and carry out further investigation.
