Jaipur Bird Festival 2025 to Commence at Kanota Camp on February 1

Green People Society Organizes a Grand Gathering of Bird Enthusiasts

Jaipur/Udaipur, January 31 – The Jaipur Bird Festival 2025, organized for the first time by the Green People Society, Udaipur (Jaipur Chapter), will take place on Saturday, February 1, at Kanota Camp Resort, near Jamdoli, Jaipur. This festival aims to introduce students and bird lovers to the vibrant world of avian species. Preparations for the event have been completed, and bird enthusiasts and experts from across the state have already arrived at the venue.

According to Festival Convenor, retired IAS officer Vikram Singh, the festival will host approximately 500 students, teachers, and bird watchers, offering a range of engaging activities. The event is being organized in collaboration with the Forest Department, Tourism Department, Jaipur Development Authority, RIICO, and WWF India.

Key Highlights of the Festival:

  • Registration of participants and distribution of student kits, refreshments, bird identification booklets, cardboard nests, DIY kits, and caps.
  • Guided birdwatching sessions using spotting scopes and binoculars under expert supervision.
  • Painting and quiz competitions on birds.
  • Exhibition of bird-themed postage stamps.
  • Group discussions on avian species.
  • Workshops and symposiums on wetlands conservation.
  • Special training sessions for teachers, trainers, and NGOs to enhance their knowledge of birds and their habitats, conducted by Early Bird, a Bengaluru-based expert organization.

Renowned Experts to Participate:

The festival will witness the presence of MK Ranjit Singh from Gujarat, WWF Chief Ravi Singh, Asad Rahmani, Green People Society President and NTCA member Rahul Bhatnagar, along with leading environmentalists and ornithologists from across the country.

Workshop and Field Visit on Wetlands Conservation

According to Vikram Singh, a workshop and symposium on wetlands conservation will be held on February 1, featuring participation from senior officials of the Forest and Environment Department, Rajasthan Pollution Control Board, Water Resources Department, Tourism Department, Jaipur Development Authority, Jaipur Municipal Corporation, and financial institutions. Representatives from WWF, selected NGOs, academicians, and medical professionals are also expected to join the discussions.

Additionally, a Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop will be conducted for trainers and resource persons, focusing on various aspects of bird conservation and their habitats. This training will be led by Early Bird, a Bengaluru-based expert organization.

Wetland Field Visit on World Wetlands Day

On February 2, World Wetlands Day, around 25–30 delegates will embark on a field visit to key wetland sites around Jaipur. The proposed locations include:

  • Barkheda-Chandlai-Muhana
  • Sambhar Salt Lake
  • Keoladeo National Park, Bharatpur
  • Tal Chhapar, Churu
