New Delhi, September 21 (Udaipur Kiran) : Union Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, is set to visit Punjab today as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) ‘Drug-Free Punjab Campaign.’ During his visit, he will first pay his respects at Takht Shri Damdama Sahib in Talwandi Sabo before officially launching the campaign at Dhana Mandi, located at Ravi Dasia Chowk, at 10:00 AM.
Chouhan will also address a public gathering in Maisarkhana and engage directly with farmers and women from self-help groups in Bathinda. His participation comes as the four-day campaign reaches its concluding phase, culminating in Bathinda, where it will wrap up the BJP’s statewide outreach program.
The BJP initiated the extensive ‘Drug-Free Punjab Campaign’ on September 18, with the first leg of the journey flagged off by National President Nitin Naveen from Ekta Sthal in Madhopur, Pathankot. The second leg commenced on September 19 from Fatehgarh Sahib, while the third began on September 20 from Fazilka, near the Asafwala 1971 War Memorial.
This campaign addresses the pressing issue of drug abuse, a significant concern and topic of political discourse in Punjab. Through this initiative, the BJP aims to raise awareness about the adverse effects of drugs and present its vision and proposed plans for a drug-free Punjab.
The involvement of senior BJP leaders, including Chouhan, is expected to provide political momentum to the campaign, strengthening the party’s organizational network and outreach across the state.
