Honor launched the Magic V2 foldable smartphone in global markets outside China during Mobile World Congress 2024 (MWC). Now, the Chinese technology brand is planning to launch its Magic foldable smartphone series in the Indian market. HTC CEO Madhav Sheth gave a clear hint about the arrival of the Honor Magic series in the country. Honor’s latest foldable series includes the regular Honor Magic V2 and the Honor Magic V2 RSR. These run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
Madhav Sheth shared via X Post on Tuesday (May 21) that the Honor Magic foldable phone will arrive in India soon. The post features the launch poster of the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro and Sheth asks: “Confidence or naivety?” A closer look at Vivo’s foldable phone. The post is accompanied by the following text: “The Honor Magic series will indeed exceed the expectations of Indian consumers.”

Sheth has not specifically announced the launch date of the Magic series in India or the models that will be launched in India, but it will definitely compete with the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro in India.
Honor Magic V2 was announced last September during IFA 2023. The company then launched a special edition called Honor Magic V2 RSR together with Porsche Design. These were announced in February during MWC 2024 in select markets.
Both Honor Magic V2 and Honor Magic V2 RSR run on MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13. It features a 6.43-inch OLED display and a 7.92-inch internal OLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz . The devices run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and come with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. This folding product has a very compact size of only 9.9mm.
Honor has equipped the Magic V2 series with a triple rear camera unit consisting of a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 20-megapixel telephoto unit. It has a 16 megapixel selfie camera. The phone is powered by a 5000mAh battery and supports 66W wired charging.
The Honor Magic V2 RSR is priced at €2,699 (roughly Rs. 242,000) in Europe for the 16GB RAM + 1TB storage variant.
