Hindustan Zinc Strengthens Infrastructure in Three Schools Near Debari Zinc Smelter, Boosts STEM Education
Udaipur, May 3 – Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL), a Vedanta Group company, has taken a significant step towards enhancing rural and community development by upgrading infrastructure and educational facilities at government schools near its Zinc Smelter in Debari. This initiative is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to promoting quality education in a safe, inclusive, and well-equipped learning environment.
Infrastructure Overhaul in Three Government Schools
As part of the initiative, HZL constructed and renovated classrooms, built separate toilet facilities for girls, and developed prayer sheds in selected schools. The schools benefiting from this initiative include:

Government Senior Secondary School (Girls), Debari
An official handover and inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of school management committees, the Chief Block Education Officer, local sarpanches and deputy sarpanches, and senior officials from Hindustan Zinc’s Debari unit. Two new classrooms were inaugurated, and renovation work in another school was also unveiled. These upgrades will directly benefit more than 800 students, supporting the overall growth of the local educational ecosystem.
STEM Labs for Future-Ready Learning
In a forward-looking move, Hindustan Zinc has also set up STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) laboratories in all three schools. These labs are designed to provide students with hands-on learning experiences using advanced technical equipment and to promote innovation-driven educational practices.
