NEW DELHI — As the heat begins to settle over much of North India, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued fresh rain alerts for several states, warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and even hailstorms over the next few days. The forecast comes amid rising temperatures in Uttar Pradesh and other plains regions, where fans have already started whirring in many households.

Rain, Snow, and Storms in the North
According to IMD, Jammu & Kashmir is set to witness heavy rain and snowfall on March 26 and 27, with similar alerts for Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab. These areas may experience:
