Ranchi, September 28 (Udaipur Kiran News) – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in several districts of Jharkhand on October 2. According to the department, eastern parts of the state — including Deoghar, Dumka, Giridih, Koderma, Pakur, and Sahibganj — are likely to experience heavy downpours, while light to moderate rain may occur in other regions.
The IMD has also indicated the possibility of heavy rainfall in some parts of the state on October 3 as well.
During the past 24 hours, the highest rainfall was recorded in Sonua (West Singhbhum) at 117.4 mm, while the state capital Ranchi received 31.4 mm.
On Sunday, Ranchi and nearby areas witnessed cloudy skies with light drizzles throughout the day, occasionally accompanied by sunny intervals.
In terms of temperature, Godda recorded the highest at 35.4°C, while Latehar reported the lowest at 20.4°C. The maximum temperatures in other major cities were: Ranchi – 29.4°C, Jamshedpur – 32.6°C, Daltonganj – 33.4°C, Bokaro – 29.1°C, and Chaibasa – 29.8°C.
The IMD has advised residents in the eastern districts to stay alert and take necessary precautions against possible heavy rainfall and localized flooding.
