The Galaxy AI functions are gradually being expanded and integrated into more and more Samsung smartphones. The suite of artificial intelligence (AI) features was introduced in Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series and later expanded to last year’s flagship, the Galaxy S23 FE. It also launched on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 last month. According to a new report, these Galaxy AI features could now be added to two Galaxy A series smartphones this year.

According to a report from SamMobile, Samsung may be looking to expand Galaxy AI capabilities to newer devices. Citing anonymous sources, the publication claimed that these features will soon be available on the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 models.
According to the report, the South Korean tech giant is considering bringing these features to smartphones launching in 2024 as the hardware will likely be able to handle resource-intensive AI tasks. However, it is not clear when these features will be added to the aforementioned smartphones.
The report speculates on the roadmap and claims that these features may be added in the One UI 6.1.1 update, which is expected to roll out in September or October. Another uncertainty concerns the available functions. A-series smartphones do not have chipsets with a dedicated NPU, so it may be difficult to add features that require on-device processing. It is expected that only features that can be fully processed on the server will be added.
It should be noted that the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, which has Galaxy AI capabilities, cannot take advantage of Instant Slow-Mo as it requires special hardware features that this phone lacks. The same thing can also happen with the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 models.
Earlier this year, Samsung moderators on the Korean Samsung Forums emphasized that the Instant Slow-Mo feature requires powerful NPU and GPU capabilities with a minimum processing speed of 16.6ms for 60fps videos. Since these are hardware acceleration features, they cannot be added to mid-range smartphones.
