Jammu, February 28 : After an extended dry spell, the long-awaited snowfall in Doda and Rajouri districts has led to a significant drop in temperature, bringing much-needed relief to farmers and local residents.
In Doda, the Gandoh Bhalessa mountains have transformed into a winter wonderland, covered in a thick white blanket of fresh snow. The snowfall has also extended to the higher reaches of the Pir Panjal mountain range, enhancing the scenic beauty of the region and boosting its tourism appeal.

Meanwhile, the lower areas of the Pir Panjal range received rainfall. Officials have also reported fresh snowfall in Gulmarg, Sonmarg, and Pahalgam, sparking excitement among tourists.
Farmers in Doda district have welcomed the snowfall, considering it a rare and much-needed weather event. The change in climate is expected to replenish groundwater sources and provide respite to those struggling with dry conditions.
