In a significant update for Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) subscribers, the government has retained the interest rate at 8.25% for the financial year 2024-25. This decision was made in the recent EPFO Central Board of Trustees meeting, ensuring that more than 7 crore employees will benefit from the unchanged interest rate.
While the exact date for interest crediting has not been officially announced, media reports suggest that the funds may be deposited by the second week of April 2025. April marks the beginning of the new financial year, during which several policy changes take effect.
