New Delhi: In a wave of fake news sweeping the national capital, a bomb threat was received via email on a flight from Delhi to Dubai, police said on Tuesday.
According to Delhi Police, the bomb threat was received at 9:35 am on Monday.
“On June 17 at 9:35 am, the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) office at IGI Airport received an email that a bomb threat had been received on a flight from Delhi to Dubai,” police said.
They also said that they took the necessary legal action after receiving the threat and found nothing suspicious.
Last week, several museums in Delhi received bomb threats that were later found to be false, police said.
Officials said bomb threats were sent via e-mail to around 10-15 museums, including the Delhi Railway Museum.
After the information, the police arrived at the scene. During the investigation, authorities determined that the mail was fake and that no explosives had been placed in the museums.
Many companies; Schools, colleges, hospitals and airports in the state capital have recently received fake bomb threats.
In May, two colleges of Delhi University received bomb threats.
In the same month, 100 schools in the Delhi-NCR region received fake bomb threats.
In early April, the Supreme Court asked the Delhi government for a detailed report on cases of bomb threat emails sent to private schools.
