Udaipur, 26 July – A final-year BDS student at a Pacific Medical dental college Udaipur died by suicide late Thursday night, sparking outrage among fellow students and leading to the suspension of two staff members. The incident occurred at the girls’ hostel located within the Pacific Medical College and Hospital campus in Bhilon Ka Bedla.

According to reports, the student, identified as Shweta Singh (25), was found hanging in her hostel room around 11 PM by her roommate. She was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
A suicide note recovered from the room contains serious allegations against the college staff. In the note, Shweta accused the staff of harassing students who failed to pay additional money. She wrote that students who did not pay were tortured, exams were delayed without reason, and some were even deliberately failed. She mentioned, “Those who don’t pay, they suck their blood.”
By Friday morning, students gathered in protest, blocking the main entrance of the college demanding strict action against those responsible. The administration responded by suspending the two staff members named in the allegations.
Shweta Was Only Daughter of Police Constable
Shweta hailed from Jammu and Kashmir and was the only daughter of a police constable. The news of her death has left her family and friends in deep shock.
Chairman of Pacific Group, Rahul Agrawal, stated that the administration has taken the students’ concerns seriously and assured them that the issues would be addressed within two to three months. He confirmed that staff members Naini Ma’am and Bhagwat Sir have been removed from their positions following the allegations. After this action, the students ended their protest.
