Udaipur, April 8 (Udaipur Kiran): District Collector Gaurav Agrawal conducted a surprise inspection of Maharana Bhupal Government Hospital and the Super Speciality Hospital associated with RNT Medical College on Tuesday morning, reviewing the medical arrangements and patient facilities.

During the inspection, the Collector emphasized transparency in services, timely delivery of treatment, and better patient facilities. He first visited the Outpatient Department (OPD) of Maharana Bhupal Hospital, where hospital authorities informed him about streamlined processes for registration, doctor consultation, medicine distribution, and diagnostic services.
He also reviewed the QR code-based report system by scanning it himself and appreciated the initiative. After inspecting the token system in the medicine OPD, he visited departments including senior citizen care, surgery, ophthalmology, ENT, and medical jurist sections.
At the Super Speciality Hospital, he inspected the plastic surgery and endocrinology departments and interacted directly with patients to understand the ground situation. At the trauma centre, he reviewed emergency operation theatres, observation wards, medical emergency units, cottage wards, CT scan facilities, plaster room, and general wards, directing officials to ensure prompt and quality emergency services.
Focus on Innovations and Ongoing Projects
The RNT administration informed the Collector that eight hospitals under the medical college handle around 8,000 to 12,000 OPD patients daily. Around 500 patients are admitted each day, while approximately 2,500 patients remain admitted at any given time. Under the Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Scheme, the hospitals are generating a monthly revenue of Rs 7 to 9 crore.
The Collector also reviewed the progress of the new building of the women’s hospital and stressed timely completion. He appreciated initiatives like the QR code-based feedback system under the “Mera Hospital Meri Zimmedari” campaign and the “Setu” system, which enables real-time monitoring and immediate treatment of referred critical patients.
Monthly Review Meetings Ordered
Gaurav Agrawal directed officials to ensure regular monitoring of all construction works and to hold monthly review meetings for better inter-departmental coordination.
Principal and Controller Dr Rahul Jain, Additional Principal Dr Vijay Gupta, Dr Kushal Gehlot, Superintendent Dr R L Suman, Media Incharge Dr Mahendra Singh Rathore, Nursing Superintendent Beena Kumari Verma, Ameen Khan, Om Joshi, Jitendra Bhatnagar, Nirmala Solanki and other officials were present during the inspection.
Concern Over Private Ambulances and Illegal Parking

It was also reported that some private vehicles mislead patients towards private hospitals, affecting the system. The Collector directed necessary action to improve the situation.
