Check Your PF Balance on WhatsApp Now

New Delhi, November 2: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has launched a new service that allows members to check their Provident Fund (PF) balance, passbook, and the last five transactions via WhatsApp. This initiative aims to simplify access to PF-related information for employees without the need to visit the EPFO office.

On November 1, 2026, during the 74th foundation day of EPFO, Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced this service. Employees can now easily check their PF balance and transaction history directly from their mobile devices.

To utilize this service, users need to follow these steps:

1. Open WhatsApp on your mobile and send a message saying “Hi” or “Hello” to +91 8796441800 using the mobile number registered with your Universal Account Number (UAN).
2. A chatbot will prompt you to select your preferred language, including Hindi or English.
3. Options for checking PF balance, last five transactions, and passbook will appear. Select “Check Balance” to view your PF balance.
4. An OTP will be requested for identity verification. Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number to complete the verification process.
5. After verification, select your PF account or Member ID to view your balance and other details on the screen.

Before using this service, ensure that your mobile number is registered with your UAN. Be aware that OTP verification may be required, and multiple Member IDs may appear if you have worked for different companies. Always use the EPFO verified WhatsApp number and never share your OTP, UAN password, or bank details with anyone.

The new WhatsApp service provides three key features:
1. Users can check the total amount deposited in their PF accounts, making it easier to track their savings.
2. Employees can access their PF passbook information directly through WhatsApp, helping them understand their account records.
3. Users can view the last five transactions in their accounts, allowing them to confirm whether their employer has made the necessary PF contributions.

This service also offers assistance related to the PMVBRY scheme, enhancing the support available to employees.
