The main objective of the programme was to create awareness among livestock farmers about scientific animal management and improved breed development. Around 70 livestock farmers participated enthusiastically in the exhibitions and showcased the health and breed quality of their calves. Farmers presented calves of improved breeds such as Holstein Friesian, Murra and Gir, reflecting the growing influence of modern animal husbandry practices in the region.

On the occasion, Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry Department Gopal Sharma, CSR Head Bhuvnesh Sharma, Bhadavon Ki Kotdi Administrator Hangami Lal Gurjar, Badla Administrator Asha Devi, and other dignitaries were present.

Senior Veterinary Officer Dr. Mohammad Rafiq said such rallies motivate farmers to adopt modern livestock management techniques. He also emphasised the importance of timely vaccination, deworming and balanced nutrition for maintaining the health and productivity of animals.

A team of veterinary experts evaluated the calves based on their physical structure, bone strength and overall health. Farmers were also given suggestions to prevent diseases and improve milk production in the future. The initiative is expected to strengthen the dairy sector in the region.

Villagers appreciated the efforts made under Hindustan Zinc’s Samadhan Project to improve rural livelihoods.

The Samadhan Project, being implemented by Hindustan Zinc since 2016, focuses on advanced agricultural practices aimed at increasing productivity and promoting sustainable farming methods among local farmers. Through training programmes, irrigation guidance and support in animal husbandry, the initiative has helped farmers adopt new agricultural techniques and improve their livelihoods. So far, more than 1.4 lakh farmers have benefited from the programme.
