
Since early morning devotees offering prayers at famous Maya Devi temple in Lumbini. The temple is situated at the same place where Queen Maya Devi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama in 563 B C.
The temple houses marker stone, nativity sculpture and ruins of 6th century BC to 15th century AD temple. An International Buddhist Conference was also organised in Lumbini as part of 2562nd Buddha Jayanti celebrations.

Participants from more than 20 countries including India attended two day conference, which was concluded last evening.
The basic objective of conference was to disseminate teachings of Gautam Buddha and spread the messages of nonviolence, brotherhood, co-existence, love and peace to the international community.
