New Delhi, April 6 : Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday met on Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for clearing the files pertaining to funding of irrigation projects and pending GST share to the state. “I have met Nirmala Sitharaman. During the meeting, I have mainly sought finance clearance for the Upper Bhadra Irrigation Project which is in its final stage,” he told reporters here. Bommai said Sitharaman also has responded positively to the state’s request to finance the Green Power Corridor projects to be undertaken by the government. The project aims to develop Karnataka as a hub for the manufacturing of renewable energy equipment. Discussion also revolved around the GST’s GoM meeting, CM said. Sitharaman also will visit Karnataka to review central schemes pertaining to banks, Bommai said. He said he has sought time to meet JP Nadda to discuss the vacancy in the state cabinet. BDN SY 1506
