New Delhi, October 17 (Udaipur Kiran): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday announced Morpal Suman as its candidate for the upcoming Anta Assembly by-election in Rajasthan. Suman currently serves as the Pradhan of Baran Panchayat Samiti.

Voting for the Anta seat is scheduled to take place on November 11, and the results will be declared on November 14.
The by-election was necessitated after Kunwar Lal Meena lost his membership in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly following a conviction in a 20-year-old case. Meena was sentenced earlier this year for allegedly pointing a pistol at a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), leading to the termination of his MLA position in May. As per rules, the election must be held within six months of a seat falling vacant.
