Voting for all 243 Assembly seats was held in two phases, with a total of 2,616 candidates in the fray. Counting will start with postal ballots, followed by EVM counting after 30 minutes. The Election Commission of India has deployed strict security measures to ensure a free, fair and transparent process across 46 counting centres in 38 districts.

According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, counting will be conducted as per the guidelines of the Election Commission. Tight protocols have been enforced to maintain security and transparency. Mobile phones are prohibited inside counting halls, and the entire process will be monitored through CCTV and videography. A total of 243 counting observers have been appointed across the state.
Each counting hall has been equipped with 15 tables — 14 for EVM counting and one managed by the Assistant Returning Officer. Three-tier security has been deployed, comprising Central Armed Police Forces in the first layer, Bihar Military Police in the second, and district police in the third.
Most exit polls have predicted a sweeping victory for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The coalition, headed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, includes JD(U), BJP, LJP (Ramvilas), HAM and Rashtriya Lok Morcha. Its main contest is with the Congress-led Mahagathbandhan. The election outcome will be crucial for RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, son of former Chief Ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi.
This election saw a high voter turnout of 67.13 per cent, adding complexity to the political equation. Analysts believe that women and young voters may play a decisive role. The Chief Electoral Officer said final results are expected late tonight.
