Kolkata, 15 November (Udaipur Kiran). The winter chill continues in West Bengal, but temperatures are expected to rise from Sunday, according to the weather department. There is no forecast of any new western disturbance or rainfall for now. Minimum temperatures remained below normal on Saturday, bringing a mild morning chill.

The Alipore Meteorological Centre said minimum temperatures may increase by two to three degrees Celsius between Sunday and Tuesday. During this period, several districts may experience dense fog, with visibility likely to drop below 200 metres. Morning hours are expected to see the strongest fog impact.
Weather in the southern parts of the state will remain dry. Wind direction is likely to change from Sunday, after which moist sea air may gradually push temperatures upward. Some areas may see partly cloudy skies and increased fog.
In northern districts, there is no chance of rain over the next 24 hours. Temperatures may remain two to three degrees Celsius below normal for now. Light winter conditions are expected to continue for the next six to seven days with no major changes. Fog is also likely to increase from Sunday to Tuesday.
Kolkata recorded a minimum temperature of 17.1°C on Friday, which rose slightly to 17.6°C on Saturday—3.2°C below normal. From Sunday, a mild rise is expected, and by Tuesday, minimum temperatures may range between 19°C and 20°C.
