NEW DELHI, June 3, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) : At least 21 people were killed after a fire broke out at a restaurant in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar on Wednesday morning. The deceased reportedly include citizens from Central Asian and African countries, though the exact number of foreign nationals among the victims has not yet been confirmed.
According to the Delhi Fire Service and local residents, the fire broke out at Lemon Green Restaurant at around 8:50 am. The flames later spread to Florish Stay Hotel located above the restaurant in the six-storey building.
More than six people were also evacuated from the building’s basement during the rescue operation.
Videos from the scene showed several people jumping from the burning building in an attempt to save their lives. Local residents spread mattresses on the ground to assist those trying to escape.
A total of 37 people have been rescued so far. Several injured persons are reported to be in critical condition.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
According to the report, 66 people have lost their lives in various fire-related incidents across Delhi over the past six months.
