Jaipur, August 14 (Kiran News): Bharatiya Adivasi Party (BAP) MLA Jaykrishna Patel, along with three others, has been granted bail in a bribery case involving ₹20 lakh. The Bagidora legislator was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on charges of accepting money in exchange for not raising questions in the Assembly. Following his arrest in May this year, the Special Anti-Corruption Court in Jaipur had sent him to judicial custody.

Accused of Demanding ₹2.5 Crore from Mine Owner
According to the allegations, MLA Jaykrishna Patel demanded ₹2.5 crore from a mine owner to drop questions related to the mining sector in the Assembly. After verifying the complainant’s claims, an ACB team conducted a raid at the legislator’s residence in Jaipur. During the operation, Patel was caught receiving the first instalment of ₹20 lakh.
The ACB stated that Patel handed over the cash-filled bag to an associate present at the scene, who managed to escape with it. The MLA’s intermediary, Vijay Kumar, was also arrested in the case.
Patel has strongly denied the bribery charges, claiming that he has been falsely implicated as part of a political conspiracy. Speaking after his arrest, the Bagidora (Banswara) MLA maintained that he was not involved in any corruption.
