ACB Traps Female AAO : Demanded 70,000 for Releasing LDC’s Pending Salary; Caught with 40,000

Banswara : ACB conducted a major operation at the Ghatol Panchayat Samiti, where they arrested Varsha Seth, a female Assistant Administrative Officer, red-handed while taking a bribe. The ACB is currently completing departmental paperwork, and the accused officer Varsha Seth, along with the complainant, is being taken to the Banswara head office.

According to reports, the complaint against Varsha Seth was filed by LDC (Lower Division Clerk) Ganesh, who was previously employed at the Ghatol Panchayat Samiti. After the assembly elections, he was transferred to Kushalgarh. However, his salary for 10 months during his tenure in Ghatol was still pending.

Ganesh repeatedly visited the Panchayat Samiti to get his salary released, but Varsha had withheld it. Finally, an agreement was reached where Ganesh was supposed to pay 70,000 rupees to get his pending salary released.

In the meantime, Ganesh lodged a complaint with the ACB. The ACB first verified the complaint and then sent the complainant to the Panchayat Samiti on Thursday afternoon with 40,000 rupees. As soon as Varsha accepted the money, she was arrested.

Reports also indicate that Varsha had previously taken money from Ganesh for the release of his salary. Over the years, from 2014 to now, Ganesh had paid her between 1 to 2 lakh rupees. Frustrated, he finally approached the ACB with a complaint.
