Jaipur, January 27, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): The Anti-Corruption Bureau Rajasthan (ACB) on Tuesday arrested a Panchayat official in Bundi district for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹20,000 in exchange for inspection-related work.

According to the ACB, Devaraj Meena, currently posted as Progress Extension Officer at the Panchayat Samiti Hindoli, Bundi, was caught red-handed while taking the bribe from the complainant. The amount was allegedly demanded on behalf of Piyush Kumar Jain, the Development Officer of Panchayat Samiti Hindoli, for the inspection of Gram Panchayat Badgaon.
Director General of Police, ACB, Govind Gupta, said that the bureau had received a complaint stating that Devaraj Meena and Development Officer Piyush Kumar Jain were allegedly harassing the complainant by demanding a bribe of ₹35,000 for carrying out the inspection work.
Acting on the complaint, a trap was laid under the supervision of DIG Anand Sharma of the Kota Range. The operation was led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Harish Bharti along with the trap team of the ACB Bundi unit.
During the operation, Devaraj Meena was caught accepting ₹20,000 from the complainant. The bribe amount was recovered from the drawer of a table placed in front of the chair where the accused was seated in his office. Meanwhile, Development Officer Piyush Kumar Jain reportedly fled his office after getting information about the trap.
