Mumbai : A court on Tuesday remanded four persons into police custody for a week for their alleged involvement in a pornography racket related to businessman and actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra.. All four were absconding and were arrested by the Crime Branch CID on Monday.
They were produce in the court on Tuesday. Those arrested included a casting director and a cameraman. They were identified as Naresh Ramavatar Pal, 29, Salim Sayyed, 32, Abdul Sayed, 24, and Aman Barnwal, 22. According to the prosecution, the accused were given Rs 2,000 each to shoot the web series. Raj Kundra has been booked under the Indian Penal Code, the Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention) Act and Information Technology Act for allegedly distributing and transmitting sexually explicit videos.
The FIR has also named actors Sherlyn Chopra and Poonam Pandey as co-accused. Raj Kundra had earlier claimed he was in no way connected to content creation, publication or transmission of alleged illegal videos and that the actors had given full consent to shoot the videos.
