Udaipur, March 7 (Udaipur Kiran): Around 350 kilograms of suspected adulterated ghee was seized during a joint action by the Police Department and the Medical Department under the ongoing “Shuddh Aahar Milawat Par Vaar” campaign.

Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Ashok Aditya said that the Ghassa police station team in Mavli stopped a Maharashtra-registered car during a late-night checkpoint operation. During the search, a large quantity of ghee was recovered from the vehicle.
Police questioned the car driver, Raju alias Shyam Das, son of Dhanraj Vaishnav, along with Pappu Lal Dangi of Patelo Ka Wada, Ghassa. During questioning, the driver stated that the ghee had been purchased from Dinesh Dangi, a resident of Patelo Ka Bada in Ghassa.
Following the information, police immediately conducted a raid at the house of Dinesh Dangi. During the search, a large quantity of ghee, mawa and materials used in preparing food items were found at the premises.
Considering the seriousness of the matter, the police informed the FSL team. The forensic team reached the spot and collected samples of the seized materials for testing.
Food Safety Officer Ashok Gupta said the samples have been sent for examination. If the materials are found to be adulterated in the investigation, action will be taken as per the rules.
