THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A YouTube channel owner was arrested in Kerala for spreading false news about Electronic Voting Machines ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, police said on Wednesday.

The Alappuzha South police filed a case against the owner of Venice TV Entertainment for alleging EVM fraud. He was detained for encouraging voters to use ballot papers for the elections.
The police stated that this act aimed to sow discord in society. Social media monitoring in Kerala has been heightened to oversee online content during the upcoming polls.
Officials responsible for cyber monitoring have been identified, and the public is urged to report any objectionable content.
The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled for April 26 in Kerala, as per the police. Measures are being taken to ensure the integrity of information shared online in the lead-up to the elections.
