Washington, 13 November (Udaipur Kiran). The 41-day-long government shutdown in the United States is close to ending after lawmakers voted in favour of a bill to reopen federal operations. Once President Donald Trump signs the bill, it will become law, clearing the way for government work to resume.

The shutdown had disrupted salaries and food assistance for millions of federal employees and caused major delays in air travel. The bill to end the shutdown was approved by Congress on Wednesday. The House of Representatives voted to restore halted food aid, resume federal employees’ salaries and revive the air traffic control system.
