Udaipur, April 15 (Udaipur Kiran): Udaipur is set to receive recognition on the occasion of the 77th Rajasthan Police Foundation Day, as divisional Child Safety Advisor Sindhu Binujeet will be honoured at a state-level ceremony in Jaipur.

According to orders issued by Additional Director General of Police (Personnel) Biju George Joseph, the main ceremony will be held at the Rajasthan Police Academy in Jaipur on Thursday. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma will present a commendation certificate to Sindhu Binujeet for her services in child protection activities carried out in association with UNICEF and Rajasthan Police.

Leading Efforts in Child Protection

The recognition of Sindhu Binujeet is being seen as a significant step towards evolving policing practices, especially in sensitive areas such as child protection and women’s safety. Her work reflects a progressive shift in policing, focusing on community engagement and welfare.

Journey from Dungarpur to Udaipur

Sindhu Binujeet came into prominence in 2010 in Dungarpur district of southern Rajasthan. She led special campaigns in BT cotton areas to curb child labour and migration. Working in tribal regions, she coordinated with administration, police, and UNICEF to address core issues related to child labour, often overcoming traditional barriers.

Innovative Initiatives and Impact

Her efforts extended beyond awareness campaigns to institutional changes within the police system. She introduced interactive communication between police and children, helping reduce fear and build trust.

She also trained police volunteers, village guards, and women safety groups on child protection issues. In Dungarpur, she initiated innovative models such as child-friendly police stations and safe school concepts, which have shown effective results.

Statewide Recognition and Expansion

The impact of her work gained wider attention in 2015 when the then Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje interacted with girls associated with these initiatives during her visit to Dungarpur. Impressed by the outcomes, she directed the expansion of these models across the state.

At present, these initiatives are successfully operational across all districts of the Udaipur range, helping thousands of children become aware of their rights.

Continued Recognition

Although Sindhu Binujeet has previously received recognition from the state government and various groups in 2017, her consistent efforts in developing a child-friendly environment at the police station level have now earned her this prestigious state-level honour.
