The Urban Development and Housing (UDH) Minister’s linked master plan for Sikar has been canceled for the second time in eight months. This decision affects the 2041 master plan, which was already scrapped once in 2025.

Officials previously cited excessive objections from farmers and villagers after the inclusion of 38 villages into Sikar’s urban boundary as a reason for the initial cancellation. UDH Minister Jhabsingh Kharra said the latest cancellation was also due to ongoing concerns from locals.

Authorities will now initiate a new plan targeting 2047, expanding Sikar’s boundaries by adding more nearby villages, from the initial 50 to potentially 88. Kharra assured that all public objections and suggestions would be considered in the new plan.

The original master plan was created during the Congress government, but the current BJP government has accused local political figures, including PCC Chief Govind Dotasra, of manipulating the plan for personal gain, leading to its cancellation in 2024.

The 2041 master plan was previously scrapped following a significant movement by the All India Kisan Sabha, which its state president, Pemaram, claimed was a victory for the farmers, suggesting there was no valid reason for this second cancellation.
