Severe Weather Alert for Seven Rajasthan Districts; Hailstorm Hits Alwar
Rajasthan's Alwar district experienced a hailstorm on Friday, while seven other districts received yellow weather alerts for storms and rain.

ALWAR, Oct 24: Alwar district in Rajasthan reported a hailstorm on Friday, with weather authorities issuing yellow alerts for severe rain in seven districts. The affected areas include Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Alwar, and Bharatpur.
The warning comes as a western disturbance influenced the weather, leading to a drop in daytime temperatures across the region. Despite being late October, several districts recorded daytime highs above 38 degrees Celsius. Mount Abu saw a drop, with nighttime temperatures falling below 13 degrees for the first time this season.
In Alwar, the temperature dropped after a sudden weather change around 3 PM when a storm brought heavy rain and hail for about 20 minutes, significantly cooling the atmosphere. The maximum temperature before the storm reached 32 degrees Celsius.
Other districts, including Jaipur and Ajmer, experienced lighter rain, contributing to a minor decrease in daytime heat. In Jaipur, for example, maximum temperatures fell to 33.8 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 21.8 degrees.
The weather department forecasts that, following the current storm system, a dry spell will settle in by October 25. However, light chill is expected to persist at night, particularly in places like Udaipur and Bhilwara, where nighttime lows dropped to around 15 degrees Celsius.
Weather experts indicated that while rain may persist in the short term as a result of the western disturbances, a transition to dry conditions is anticipated shortly.
