Jaipur, October 16 (Udaipur Kiran): The first signs of winter have started appearing across Rajasthan, with the weather gradually turning cooler at night even as daytime temperatures remain warm. In many areas, especially on the outskirts of cities, people have begun taking out light woollens during early mornings and evenings.

According to the Meteorological Department, the impact of winter will increase significantly after Diwali, with night temperatures expected to drop further across the state.
On Wednesday night, several districts recorded temperatures below 20°C, indicating a noticeable dip. Nagaur experienced the coldest night in the state, with the mercury falling to 14.8°C.
During the past 24 hours, most regions of Rajasthan witnessed clear skies and bright sunshine during the day. Day temperatures ranged between 26°C and 35°C in Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bikaner, and Sri Ganganagar, while in Jaipur, Alwar, Sikar, Pilani, and Kota, the maximum hovered around 32°C.
The minimum (night) temperatures recorded across major cities were as follows:
-
Jodhpur: 17.5°C
-
Churu: 17.3°C
-
Udaipur: 17.4°C
-
Pilani: 16.0°C
-
Sikar: 15.0°C
-
Ajmer: 16.3°C
-

-
Alwar: 17.8°C
-
Bhilwara: 17.4°C
-
Barmer: 20.2°C

The Jaipur Meteorological Centre stated that no major change in weather patterns is expected over the next few days. However, the cold is likely to intensify post-Diwali due to the influence of snowfall in northern India.
Currently, northern districts including Bikaner, Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Jhunjhunu, and Sikar are already witnessing a sharp nip in the air, with cold winds adding to the chill during mornings and evenings.
