Airtel to Soon Launch Standalone Network Service
New Delhi : According to a report by the renowned mobile network analytics company OpenSignal, Jio’s standalone 5G network is the key to Jio AirFiber’s ability to deliver high-speed data to its customers.
OpenSignal believes that customers of Jio’s fixed wireless service, Jio AirFiber, consume an average of 400 GB of data per month. This consumption is significantly higher compared to mobile customers. Despite this, Jio AirFiber’s speed and quality scores remain comparable to its 5G mobile network.

In India’s fixed wireless service market, Reliance Jio is currently the only provider using a standalone 5G network. According to OpenSignal, standalone 5G, along with network slicing technology, helps Jio AirFiber manage data consumption effectively. The report also mentions that, recognizing the benefits of this technology, Airtel is preparing to launch fixed wireless services on a standalone 5G network.
To bring network coverage to areas with limited broadband access, Reliance Jio launched Jio AirFiber last year. The highest demand for Jio AirFiber is coming from Tier-2 cities. To attract customers, Jio has launched several affordable plans starting at Rs 599.
