Jammu, January 27 – The Jammu division of Northern Railway continues its commitment to providing passengers with the best possible facilities and a comfortable journey. In line with this dedication, a special reserved train numbered 04627 was successfully operated on Tuesday between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar.
This special reserved train was introduced by the Jammu division considering the heavy rush and adverse weather conditions. It served as a highly convenient and safe option for passengers. Train number 04627 departed from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at the scheduled time of 8:10 AM. Over 650 passengers traveled on this train.
Passengers expressed their gratitude towards the railway for running the special reserved train. They noted that despite challenging conditions, the Jammu division periodically operates special trains to offer better travel options. Due to poor weather and snowfall, road and air travel were affected, making the railway the only reliable mode of transport that provided enhanced facilities.
Regarding the return service, special reserved train number 04628 arrived at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra from Srinagar on January 27. It departed Srinagar at 2:00 PM as per schedule, carrying more than 700 passengers.
Travelers from Srinagar to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra praised the special train service by the railways, stating that tourists coming to Kashmir from various parts of the country experienced a smooth journey.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Udit Singhal commented on the successful operation of the special reserved trains, stating, “This special train has improved connectivity between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Kashmir Valley during adverse weather. The occupancy rate exceeded 100 percent during the operation. Passengers appreciated this special service, especially when road and air travel were disrupted. This initiative ensures safe travel during harsh weather, enhancing passenger convenience significantly. It is an important step, particularly as many tourists visit Kashmir in snowy conditions. This could lead to an increase in the number of tourists visiting Kashmir.”
