Rajsamand, May 24 – A tragic road accident occurred early Saturday morning near Bhawa Bus Stand in Rajsamand, Rajasthan, where a high-speed sleeper bus overturned, killing three passengers and injuring at least 15 others. The bus, operated by a private travel company, was en route from Ahmedabad to Bhilwara.

Driver Allegedly Dozed Off, Then Fled the Scene
According to Hansaram, Circle Inspector of Kankroli Police Station, initial investigations suggest that the accident happened because the driver fell asleep while driving. The driver fled the scene immediately after the crash, and police teams are currently searching for him.
Victims Identified
The deceased include:
Akhilesh (25), a resident of Chayanpur, Motihari (Bihar)
Geeta Ahir (30), a resident of Surawas Potla (Bhilwara)
Asif Mohammad (27), a resident of Pur (Bhilwara)
All three victims died on the spot due to the impact of the crash.
Injured Passengers Admitted to Hospital
Police and rescue personnel arrived swiftly at the scene and helped extricate passengers from the overturned vehicle. A crane was used to upright the bus, and the injured were transported to RK Hospital in Rajsamand.

Dudaram, Manoj Kumar, Anil Kumar, Rajesh Rajak, Chandan Kumar, Chhote Lal, Ayush, Jhandaram, Mohammad Rais, Kamlesh, Raju, Mamta, Abhiditya, Pappulal, and Usha.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, including examining whether the bus exceeded speed limits or if other safety protocols were violated. The lack of proper rest for drivers, especially on long interstate routes, is being highlighted as a recurring cause in similar incidents.
The state transport department is expected to review the incident, and legal action against the travel company is also being considered.
