Mumbai, May 18: Shiv Sena spokesperson Krishna Hegde expressed pride in Prime Minister Narendra Modi receiving the prestigious ‘Royal Order of the Polar Star’ from Sweden. In a conversation with a news agency, Hegde praised Modi, stating that this honor is a matter of pride for India.
Hegde also addressed the ongoing Voter List Verification Campaign and the issues related to fuel prices in Congress-ruled states. He mentioned that Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde has instructed party workers to identify genuine voters at the booth level and assist election commission officials with the verification process.
Regarding fuel prices, Hegde criticized the Congress for increasing petrol and diesel prices in Telangana, following similar hikes in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh. He pointed out that the promises made in the Congress manifesto are not reflected on the ground.
Meanwhile, Anand Dubey, spokesperson for Shiv Sena (UBT), discussed the fuel price issues in Congress-ruled states, stating that there is a shortage of petrol and diesel across India. He emphasized the importance of public transport in response to PM Modi’s appeal and noted that both Telangana and BJP-ruled states operate differently. He called for a spirit of cooperation with Telangana, being a new state.
Dubey highlighted the good relationship between PM Modi and the Chief Minister of Telangana, suggesting that the central government would provide support. He criticized the central government for its handling of the SIR process, questioning the BJP’s failure to address the issue of illegal immigrants after 12 years in power.
He warned Deputy CM Eknath Shinde that if the intent is to allow illegal immigrants into the country, the public will not forgive such actions. Dubey also remarked that while no party has opposed the SIR process, any attempt to remove genuine voters’ names will face backlash.
On PM Modi’s honor in Sweden, Dubey expressed that while it brings pride to the nation, there is a pressing need for the government to effectively manage the current global crisis. He lamented the rising inflation, depreciation of the rupee, and the strengthening of the dollar, stating that such conditions are disheartening. He noted that while they criticize the government, BJP supporters often ridicule them.
He concluded by saying that while they feel proud when the Prime Minister is honored abroad, it is disheartening when he appears inactive at home.
