As per ICC regulations, any player replacement during the tournament requires the approval of the Event Technical Committee. The committee granted its consent, allowing Shefali’s inclusion in the Indian contingent.

The ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Event Technical Committee comprises Wasim Khan (Chairman, ICC General Manager – Cricket), Gaurav Saxena (ICC General Manager – Events & Corporate Communications), Abey Kuruvilla (BCCI Tournament Director), and Mel Jones (Independent Member).

Shefali Verma’s return is expected to strengthen India’s batting lineup. Known for her aggressive style and consistent performances in the past, the young batter is likely to add much-needed firepower to the top order.
