Jaipur, March 27 – In a significant anti-corruption crackdown, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Bharatpur unit has arrested Santosh Kumar, Secretary of DPM STC College, and clerk Mohit Kumar for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹15,000. The operation, conducted under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Amit Singh, was executed after receiving a credible complaint from a victim.

Bribe Demanded for Attendance Manipulation and Scholarship Approval
According to ACB Director General Dr. Ravi Prakash Meharda, the bureau received a formal complaint stating that the officials of DPM STC College demanded a bribe of ₹25,500 from a student. The reason? To falsely correct the student’s low attendance record and facilitate the release of a government scholarship.
The ACB team laid a trap and successfully caught the secretary and the clerk red-handed while accepting ₹15,000 as part of the bribe amount. This action underscores the ongoing efforts of Rajasthan’s ACB to eliminate corruption within educational institutions.
ACB Tightens Grip on Corruption in Education Sector
This arrest highlights growing concerns around administrative corruption in Rajasthan’s private and semi-government colleges. The manipulation of student records and conditional approval of scholarships in exchange for bribes severely impacts student trust and undermines institutional integrity.
The ACB has initiated further investigation to determine if additional officials are involved in similar practices at the institution or elsewhere in the region. Strict legal proceedings will follow as per the Prevention of Corruption Act.
