Bhopal, October 27 (Udaipur Kiran): Even after the official withdrawal of the monsoon, rainfall continues across Madhya Pradesh. On Sunday, heavy showers were reported in 20 districts, including Bhopal and Indore, where intermittent rain persisted throughout the day. Similar weather conditions are expected to continue on Monday, with the Meteorological Department issuing a heavy rain alert for eight districts in the Gwalior, Chambal, and Ujjain divisions. The department has predicted that this spell of rain will last until October 29.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a depression is active over the Arabian Sea, linked with a trough extending across central Madhya Pradesh. This system is likely to cause rainfall for the next three days, with the northern parts, especially Gwalior and Chambal, expected to experience more intense activity within the next 24 hours.
Light to moderate rainfall is expected today in Bhopal, Indore, Ashoknagar, Guna, Raisen, Vidisha, Narsinghpur, Narmadapuram, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Betul, Rajgarh, Harda, Sehore, Shajapur, Khandwa, Khargone, Dewas, Barwani, Burhanpur, Dhar, Alirajpur, Agar-Malwa, Jhabua, and Ratlam. Meanwhile, a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal may influence weather patterns over the next 48 hours. The IMD has issued an alert for rain, thunderstorms, and lightning across the state from October 27 to 30.
Over the past few days, both maximum and minimum temperatures in the state had dropped, with nighttime temperatures reaching as low as 15°C. However, due to recent rain, daytime temperatures fell further in several cities on Sunday. Once the rain subsides, another dip in nighttime temperatures is expected.
On Sunday, the daytime temperatures recorded were: Bhopal 24.2°C, Betul 26.5°C, Dhar 23.2°C, Narmadapuram 24.6°C, Indore 23.5°C, Khandwa 28.5°C, Pachmarhi 23.8°C, Raisen 28.2°C, Ratlam 24.2°C, Shivpuri 29.2°C, Ujjain 25.7°C, Chhindwara 27°C, Damoh 26.6°C, Jabalpur 24.8°C, Mandla 26.8°C, Rewa 28.1°C, Sagar 25.7°C, Satna 28.8°C, Seoni 28.4°C, Sidhi 27°C, Umaria 28.5°C, and Malajkhand 29.8°C. Night temperatures remained largely unchanged.
