Mumbai, March 16: At the 98th Academy Awards, desi girl Priyanka Chopra made a striking appearance. Although none of her films won an award, she became the first Indian actress to present an award at such a prestigious global event.
The actress presented the Best International Feature Film award to “Sentimental Value,” alongside actor Javier Bardem. Directed by Joachim Trier, the film explores the complex and strained relationships between a father and his two daughters, revolving around unresolved family disputes and artistic heritage. Set against a Norwegian backdrop, it follows the journey of a renowned filmmaker trying to mend his fractured family ties while working on a new film project.
During the award show, Priyanka took the stage, and Javier Bardem passionately declared, “Free Palestine.” For the occasion, Priyanka donned a stunning off-shoulder white gown designed by Dior, blending classic Hollywood style with modern intricacies. The gown’s slit design accentuated her beauty, while its grand volume and length gave her a regal appearance.
The lower part of the gown featured black and white tulle detailing, reminiscent of a bridal gown. She accessorized with a lightweight diamond necklace, completing her glamorous look, while husband Nick Jonas complemented her in a black and white three-piece suit. The couple garnered significant attention on the red carpet for their coordinated outfits.
The 98th Oscars were held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, hosted by late-night host Conan O’Brien, who also hosted the previous year’s ceremony. Director Ryan Coogler’s film “Sinners” is leading the race with nominations in 16 categories, including Best Film and Best Director.
