New Delhi, January 3 (Agency): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday gifted the residents of the national capital projects worth ₹4,500 crore during a ceremony held in Ashok Vihar. The projects include 1,675 flats for JJ cluster residents, educational initiatives, and urban redevelopment projects aimed at empowering the people of Delhi.

Housing for All: A Commitment to Empowerment
Reiterating the government’s commitment to “Housing for All,” the Prime Minister inaugurated 1,675 flats under the In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project at Ashok Vihar. These flats, part of the Swabhimaan Apartments, are designed to uplift the living standards of slum dwellers. During the event, the Prime Minister handed over keys to eligible beneficiaries, marking a significant step toward inclusive development.
Urban Redevelopment: Transforming Nauroji and Sarojini Nagar
Two major urban redevelopment projects were also inaugurated:
- Nauroji Nagar: The area has been transformed into a state-of-the-art World Trade Centre, replacing over 600 dilapidated quarters with cutting-edge commercial towers. This redevelopment project has created 34 lakh square feet of premium commercial space, equipped with modern amenities.
- Sarojini Nagar: The project includes 28 towers under the GPRA Type-II Quarters, offering over 2,500 residential units. These developments showcase the government’s vision of modernizing urban infrastructure while ensuring high-quality housing solutions.
Integrated CBSE Office Complex in Dwarka
The Prime Minister also inaugurated the CBSE Integrated Office Complex in Dwarka, constructed at a cost of ₹300 crore. The facility features:
- A central office, auditorium, and an advanced data center.
- Comprehensive water management systems to promote sustainability.
The complex is a testament to the government’s emphasis on strengthening educational administration infrastructure.
Boost to Delhi University: Laying Foundations for Growth
Delhi University received a significant boost with the foundation stones for three major projects worth over ₹600 crore:
- An academic block in the eastern campus at Surajmal Vihar.
- Another academic block in the western campus at Dwarka.
- The construction of Veer Savarkar College in Roshanpura, Najafgarh.
These initiatives are expected to enhance the university’s infrastructure, benefiting students and faculty alike.
