New Delhi, August 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the autobiography of former President Ram Nath Kovind at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi on Wednesday. Titled “Triumph of the Indian Republic: My Life, My Struggles,” the event was attended by Modi, Kovind, and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, along with a large audience.
Speaker Om Birla addressed the attendees, highlighting Kovind’s humble beginnings and the challenges he faced in his early life, including long journeys to school. He emphasized that despite these obstacles, Kovind’s determination remained unwavering, and the book serves as an inspiration for all.
Former President Kovind expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to discuss his personal life during the book launch. He praised PM Modi, recalling their early interactions when Modi was actively involved in party work. Kovind noted Modi’s vision, commitment to development, and ability to connect with grassroots workers as particularly impactful.
Kovind remarked on the clarity and firmness in Modi’s discussions about governance and development, recognizing a unique blend of organizational efficiency and visionary thinking in him. He also shared that his political journey began with the BJP, which emphasizes the principle of “Nation First,” rising above social issues like dynastic politics and regionalism for inclusive national development.
The autobiography provides insights into the values, experiences, and circumstances that shaped Kovind’s journey and public service. Prior to the book launch, PM Modi took to social media platform X, stating, “This is the autobiography of former President Ram Nath Kovind. It reflects his inspiring life and efforts in serving society.”
Ram Nath Kovind served as the President of India from 2017 to 2022. Before his presidency, he was the Governor of Bihar from 2015 to 2017 and served two consecutive terms as a Rajya Sabha member from Uttar Pradesh. He was the first person from Uttar Pradesh and the BJP to hold the highest constitutional position in the country. Kovind was born on October 1, 1945, in a Koli family in the village of Paraunkh, Kanpur Dehat district. He joined the BJP in 1991 and later served as the head of the party’s Dalit Morcha and as the president of the All India Koli Society between 1998 and 2002.
