New Delhi, June 18 (Udaipur Kiran) – Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, today. During this visit, he will release the 17th installment of the PM-Kisan Yojana, amounting to approximately Rs 20,000 crore. This installment will benefit over 9.26 crore farmers, providing them with financial aid exceeding Rs 20,000 crore.

Public Program in Varanasi
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) shared details of Prime Minister Modi’s public program in Varanasi on their X handle (formerly Twitter). According to the available information, Prime Minister Modi will participate in the PM Kisan Conference in Varanasi at 4:15 PM. Following this, he will visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple for rituals and worship at 6:15 PM. Approximately 45 minutes later, Prime Minister Modi will reach Dashashwamedh Ghat to witness the grand Ganga Aarti.

The Press Information Bureau (PIB) of the Government of India also released a statement detailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s program in Varanasi. According to the PIB, Prime Minister Modi will release the 17th installment of the PM-Kisan Yojana on June 18, benefiting more than 9.26 crore farmers with over Rs 20,000 crore. Additionally, he will distribute certificates to more than 30,000 self-help groups trained as Para Extension Workers under the Krishi Sakhi scheme.
Participation of Dignitaries
The program will see the participation of Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, and several other state ministers. More than 2.5 crore farmers from 732 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), over one lakh Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies, and five lakh Common Service Centers across the country will participate in this program.
Special Programs at KVKs
According to the PIB, special events will take place at 50 selected Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs). These centers will host a large number of farmers, and several Union ministers will attend and interact with the farmers. Farmers will be educated about good agricultural practices, emerging technologies in the agricultural sector, climate-resilient agriculture, and how to check the status of their PM-Kisan benefits and payments. They will also learn to use the Kisan e-Mitra Chatbot. Union ministers will distribute certificates to the trained Krishi Sakhis of the region.
Union Agriculture Minister’s Statement
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had provided details about the crucial role of agriculture in India’s economy and Prime Minister Modi’s unwavering support for farmers during a press conference on June 15. The PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme was launched on February 24, 2019. To date, the central government has disbursed over Rs 3.04 lakh crore to more than 11 crore farmers across the country.
Prime Minister’s Upcoming Visits
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, this will be Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first visit to Uttar Pradesh after the Lok Sabha elections on June 18, followed by a visit to Bihar on June 19. On June 19, at 9:45 AM, Prime Minister Modi will visit the ancient heritage sites in Nalanda, Bihar. At 10:30 AM, he will inaugurate the campus of Nalanda University in Rajgir and address a public meeting.
