Udaipur. Students and athletes of Pacific University enthusiastically took part in a three-day series of events organised on the occasion of Sports Day.
On the first day, National Sports Day was celebrated by paying floral tributes and garlanding the portrait of Major Dhyan Chand Ji. The chief guests of the programme—Professor B.P. Sharma, Professor Hemant Kothari, and Professor Ashok Shah—administered the Fit India Movement pledge to all participants. A special fitness lecture series was also held, in which Professor C.P. Singh Bhati provided in-depth insights on sports and fitness.
The second day featured a tug-of-war competition. In the women’s category, the team from Pacific College of Physical Education secured the first position, while the team from Pacific College of Education was the runner-up. In the men’s category, the winning team was from Pacific Law College, and the runner-up was from Pacific College of Physical Education. All winners were felicitated by the guests.
On the third and final day, a cyclothon and marathon were organised by the state government at Udaipur’s famous Fatehsagar Lake. The events were flagged off by the State Sports Minister, Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, who also actively participated in the cyclothon with great enthusiasm. He interacted with Pacific University athletes and took photographs with them.
Throughout the events, respected staff members of Pacific College of Physical Education—including Principal Dr. Hemant Pandya, Vice Principal Dr. Jitendra Singh Chundawat, Mr. Chandresh Soni, Dr. Gagan Vyas, Kapil Verma, Dr. Neelam Yadav, Mr. Purushottam Singh, Mr. Teerthpal Rathore, Mr. Gajendra Khinchi, Mr. Bhanupratap Singh, Kailashchandra, and Himmat Singh—were present.
