Oppo Reno 12 and Oppo Reno 12 Pro with MediaTek Dimensity SoC processor were launched in some global markets last week. Now, the Chinese tech brand is gearing up to launch its flagship phone in India. It has been confirmed that they will soon be officially launched in the country via Flipkart. Like their Chinese and global counterparts, the Indian versions of the Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro will also have several features that enable artificial intelligence (AI), the company said.
The Oppo Reno 12 5G series has been launched in India
Oppo announced via a media invite that the Reno 12 5G series will soon be launched in India. Flipkart and Oppo India have created a special landing page on their website to preview the arrival of Oppo Reno 12 5G and Reno 12 Pro 5G.
Both phones are confirmed to have several AI-powered camera features including AI Best Face, AI Eraser 2.0, AI Studio and AI Clear Face. The suite also integrates productivity features such as AI Summary, AI Record Summary, AI Clear Voice, AI Writer and AI Speak from Google Gemini LLM.
New AI features are introduced in the Oppo Reno 12 5G series
The upcoming Best Face Artificial Intelligence feature on the Oppo Reno 12 series is advertised as being able to recognize human faces and facial expressions to capture great photos. This feature allows you to “open” the eyes of a subject that was closed in the photo.
AI Eraser 2.0 works like Google’s Magic Eraser, removing background distractions with just a few taps. The AI Studio feature lets you turn any photo into a digital avatar and AI Clear Face provides high-resolution details such as facial texture, hair and eyebrows.
AI Summary for Oppo Reno 12 Series provides summaries and highlights of long-form content. AI recording summary can be used to summarize daily office meetings.
Meanwhile, the AI Writer feature helps you complete your sentences and offers word suggestions and grammar corrections. AI Clear Voice uses advanced algorithms to reduce background noise by up to 40 dB.
Oppo Reno 12 Specifications (Expected)
Chinese versions of Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro use the MediaTek Dimensity 8250 Star Speed Edition SoC and Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition SoC, respectively. The global version is equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC.
Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro both have two 50-megapixel cameras and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Both devices have a 50-megapixel front camera. It is powered by a 5000mAh battery that supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging.
