New Daily Superfast Express to Run Between Varanasi and Sabarmati: Check Timetable and Route
Prayagraj, November 2, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): Rail passengers travelling between Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat will have a new daily train service. The railway administration has decided to introduce a regular daily Superfast Express between Varanasi and Sabarmati (Ahmedabad).
According to Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Dr Shivam Sharma, train numbers 12206/12205 Varanasi–Sabarmati–Varanasi Superfast Express will provide passengers with a faster, modern and comfortable travel option.
The service was inaugurated on October 30 as a special train (No. 09405) and will now begin regular operations as per its scheduled timetable.
Dr Sharma said train number 12206 will start operating daily from Varanasi on November 2, 2026, while train number 12205 will run daily from Sabarmati from November 4, 2026.
The 21-coach train will comprise:
- 2 AC Second Class coaches
- 6 AC Third Class coaches
- 6 Sleeper Class coaches
- 5 General Class coaches
- 2 SLR coaches
Varanasi to Sabarmati: Train No. 12206 Timetable
The train will depart from Varanasi Junction daily at 5:30 PM.

On its return journey, the train will depart from Sabarmati daily at 5:20 AM.
