Motorola Edge 50 Pro to Launch in India; Teased to Get 144Hz Display, 50-Megapixel Camera

The Lenovo-owned brand announced on Monday (March 18) that the Motorola Edge 50 Pro will soon launch in India. Flipkart’s dedicated microsite revealed some designs and specifications of the Edge series smartphones ahead of their launch. The Motorola Edge 50 Pro features a curved pOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and is available in at least three color options. This is ensured by an AI-supported camera unit with a 50-megapixel main sensor. The Motorola Edge 50 Pro is expected to come with the third-generation Snapdragon 8 chip.

In a post on X, Motorola India has announced that the Motorola Edge 50 Pro will be launching in India soon. It has been confirmed to be sold via Flipkart. The teaser shows the phone with a curved screen and a waterdrop notch in the center of the display that houses the selfie camera. However, Motorola did not reveal the exact release date of the next smartphone.

As mentioned earlier, the Flipkart website has a landing page that showcases the design and specifications of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro. It is confirmed to be available in Black, Purple and White hues. The phone features a 6.7-inch POLED display that supports 1.5K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and 2000 nits maximum brightness. This display is HDR10+ certified and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum. The screen features SGS eye protection and a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 coating to reduce blue light emission.

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro has been confirmed to feature an under-display optical fingerprint scanner. The upcoming phone is said to be the world’s first Pantone certified camera. It features an AI-powered triple rear camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with 2μm AI, an ultra-wide-angle camera with 50x hybrid zoom, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens.

According to the previously leaked information, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro will come with a 3rd generation Snapdragon 8s chip with 12GB of RAM. The phone is set to officially launch on April 3 alongside the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion.
