The opening match will see Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) face off against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium. Here’s a look at the five youngest players participating in this season.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi: At just 14 years old, Vaibhav Suryavanshi will be the youngest player in IPL 2026. He made a significant impact last season with his explosive batting, scoring the second-fastest century in IPL history against Gujarat Titans in just 35 balls. Over seven matches, he amassed 252 runs at a strike rate of 206.
Ayush Mhatre: Born on July 16, 2007, Ayush Mhatre of Chennai Super Kings will be the second-youngest player at 18 years and 160 days old. Last season was remarkable for him, as he scored 240 runs at a strike rate of 188 over seven matches. The Chennai Super Kings will be counting on him for a strong performance this season.
Sahil Parikh: At 18 years and 199 days, Sahil Parikh will be the third-youngest player in IPL 2026. He was acquired by Delhi Capitals for ₹30 lakh during the auction, and the team will be hoping for a solid performance from him in the upcoming season.
Satvik Deswal: Acquired by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for ₹30 lakh, Satvik Deswal is the fourth-youngest player at 18 years and 275 days. As a left-arm spinner, he aims to make a mark if given the opportunity in the playing eleven.
Vihaan Malhotra: The fifth-youngest player, Vihaan Malhotra, has impressed many with his batting in the Under-19 World Cup. Currently, he is 18 years and 356 days old and was bought by RCB for ₹30 lakh.
