New Delhi, May 13: Following Amul India’s recent price hike, Mother Dairy has also announced an increase in milk prices. The new rates, which will take effect from May 14, 2026, will see an increase of ₹2 per liter.
A spokesperson for Mother Dairy stated that the cost of purchasing milk from farmers has risen by approximately 6% over the past year. Despite efforts to minimize the impact on consumers, a price adjustment became necessary.
According to the company, this increase is only partial compared to the overall costs and aims to maintain a balance between the interests of farmers and consumers. The spokesperson noted that around 75% to 80% of the revenue generated from milk sales is spent on farmers and milk procurement, supporting farmers’ livelihoods while ensuring a consistent supply of quality milk to consumers.
The last adjustment in milk prices occurred in April 2025. Under the new pricing, bulk vended milk (token milk) will rise from ₹56 to ₹58 per liter, while full cream milk will now cost ₹72 instead of ₹70 per liter.
The price of toned milk will increase from ₹58 to ₹60 per liter, and double toned milk will now be priced at ₹54 per liter, up from ₹52. Cow milk will see a rise from ₹60 to ₹62 per liter, while pro milk will be priced at ₹72 instead of ₹70 per liter.
Earlier, Amul India had also announced a price hike of up to ₹2 per liter for its milk products, affecting Amul Fresh, Amul Gold, Amul Shakti, Amul Tea Special, and other major variants. For instance, the price of a 500 ml pack of Amul Fresh will increase from ₹28 to ₹29, and a 1-liter pack will rise from ₹55 to ₹57.
The price of Amul cow milk in a 500 ml pack will go from ₹29 to ₹30, while Amul Shakti’s 500 ml pack will now cost ₹32 instead of ₹31. The price of Amul Tea Special’s 1-liter pack will increase from ₹63 to ₹66, and Amul Gold’s 500 ml pack will now be priced at ₹35 instead of ₹34.
Additionally, the price of Amul Buffalo milk in a 500 ml pack will rise from ₹37 to ₹39.
