Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), 19 November (Udaipur Kiran). Thippiri Tirupati, also known as Devji — a most-wanted Maoist carrying a reward of over ₹1 crore — was killed on Tuesday during an encounter in the Rampachodavaram forest area of Andhra Pradesh. He was accused of orchestrating the killings of more than 131 security personnel in the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh.

Additional Director General (ADG) of Andhra Pradesh Intelligence, Mahesh Chandra Ladda, confirmed the development.
According to the ADG, a fierce gun battle broke out early in the morning between security forces and Maoists, in which six to seven Maoists were neutralised. Thippiri Tirupati alias Devji was among those killed. He was active along the Odisha–Andhra Pradesh border and was appointed as a general secretary within the Maoist organisation.
Devji was one of the most dangerous Maoist leaders operating in the region, with several deadly attacks attributed to him. The government had announced a reward of more than ₹1 crore for his capture.
His death marks a significant blow to Maoist operations in the region.
